Australia Singapore Cable

Connecting Australia and Asia with capacity up to 60Tbps.

The Australia Singapore Cable (ASC) is Australia’s most advanced, high-capacity, and low-latency submarine fibre optic cable system stretching between Perth and Singapore.

Officially put into service in September 2018, the ASC was designed, built, and is solely operated by Vocus. It stretches 4,600km between Perth and Singapore, with connections to Christmas Island and Indonesia, and provides an alternate and direct high-capacity route to Asia Pacific, as well as alternate connections to Europe and the United States.

Before the launch of the ASC, Australia’s international telecommunications infrastructure was heavily focused on submarine cable landings located on the east coast of Australia.

The ASC offers significant capacity and performance, including a low-latency route from Sydney to Singapore when used in conjunction with our terrestrial network in Australia. On the ASC, we can provide unprotected or protected options in speeds from 10Gbps to 100Gbps.

Today, the ASC provides a critical level of redundancy to Australia’s fibre infrastructure and the data flows it provides for government, business, and consumers across the country.
